IEC camp & sensitization of paramedical workers in mental health issues at PHC Malharpeth on 15 dec 2014.  IEC activity by poster presentation was done at PHC Malharpeth for patients visiting OPD.  Psych social worker Sachin Thite explained the patients & their relatives about different presentations of mental illness & its treatment.  Videos for creating awareness about substance abuse & mental illness were played. Clinical psychologist Seema Waghmare guided the public about early identification & treatment of mental illness.  ASHA workers, ANM & MPWs from various subcenters under Malharpeth PHC participated actively in the sensitization program. MO Dr S Shikalgar & Dr Rashmi Kulkarni also played pivotal role in organising the program.They assured DMHP team about active participation by all staff of PHC Malharpeth.

World Mental Health Day 10th October 2014 Theme for this year was 'Living with Schizophrenia' Events organised in mental health week - Movie based on Schizophrenia 'Devrai'(देवराई) was played at Lal Bahadur Shastri College, Satara.        Lecture on Schizophrenia was given for students of Sawkar Homeopathy College, Satara.                                                 Pos ter presentation was held at Primary Health Center Nagthane , Satara    

Suicide & its management lecture at Aryangla Ayurvedic Medical College, Satara. Poster presentation for awareness about mental illness at Aryangla Ayurvedic Medical College, Satara.  Street play organised by students of Tata Inst of Social Science & volunteers from nagthane village.  Poster presentation at district hospital, Satara. Civil Surgeon Dr Suresh Jagdale guiding the audience about importance of mental health.  

World Schizophrenia Day  on 24th may was celebrated by District Mental Health Program in collaboration with Maitra Hospital and Nirmitee (an NGO). Workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Dr Sanjog Kadam (IMA President) in presence of Dr R Katkar(RMO outreach,District hospital) under the president Dr Prasanna Dabholkar (senior psychiatrist). Dr Animish Chavan (psychiatrist, maitra hospital) addressed the audience consisting of patients & their relatives about Schizophrenia its symptoms & treatment.  Dr Sanjog Kadam congratulated DMHP & Maitra for organising such program & gave best wishes.  President Dr Prasanna Dabholkar addressed the audience explaining them the nature & course of Schizophrenia.He also mentioned the need to increase awareness about all mental illnesses in society.                                        Patients ...
