World Mental Health  Week 4th Oct - 10th Oct 2013

 

                               Theme for this year is - "Mental health & Older adults"
                                                   

                                               5th October 2013

  • Movie based on this year theme was shown to nursing students from ANM & GNM courses in order to sensitize them regarding mental health problems arising in older adults.

   Movie 'Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara' starring Anupam Kher & Urmila Martondkar in which actor Anupam Kher played role of patient suffering from Dementia & Urmila his daughter who takes his care in most difficult situations.


8th October 2013

Mental health check up camp was organized at Matoshri Vruddhashram, Mahagaon where older adults were assessed for dementia,depression and other psychological problems .Dr Ghorpade,Mr Sachin Thite(Psy social worker),Mrs Aparna Ballal(Psy social worker) & Miss Seema Waghmare(Clin Psychologist) did the assessment & necessary medicines were provided.

 On Mental health day awareness rally was organized which was inaugurated by Mrs Sujata Rajemahadik President,Municipal Council,Satara   in presence of Dr Suresh Jagdale (Civil Surgeon) & Dr Sonawane (Add Civil surgeon).
Students from Nursing college,Y C Institute of Science,Chh Shivaji college of Arts,Ismailsaheb Mulla Law college participated in this rally.
Students were given refreshments & certificate of participation by Civil surgeon Dr S Jagdale.



 At 10 am, main program was organized in District Hospital .
poster presentation was inaugurated by chief guest Dr J G Jadhav Principal Chh Shivaji College of Arts,Satara.

 Civil Surgeon Dr Suresh Jagdale also expressed his thoughts on mental illness & stressed on importance of its awareness in youth.

Prize distribution for winners of Essay competition  was done by Chief guest Dr J G Jadhav.



 Poster presentation was arranged in District Hospital.









 Role play on Dementia was performed by students of nursing college.









In afternoon 2 pm lecture on  'parental guidance & counseling' was organized for parents at Asha Bhavan School for Mentally Retarded by Vidhi seva pradhikaran ,Satara.Chief district Judge Upadhye sir & civil surgeon Dr S Jagdale were chief guests.

Dr Abhijeet Ghorpade gave brief guidance to parents of mentally retarded children.

World Schizophrenia Day 24 may 2014

World Schizophrenia Day  on 24th may was celebrated by District Mental Health Program in collaboration with Maitra Hospital and Nirmitee (an NGO). Workshop was inaugurated by chief guest Dr Sanjog Kadam (IMA President) in presence of Dr R Katkar(RMO outreach,District hospital) under the president Dr Prasanna Dabholkar (senior psychiatrist).
